Media Arts final project, Goldsmiths University of London, Media and Communications department. 1:59 / HD video / 2017 Directed and edited by Roser Jorba Soler. Sound by Bren S. Smith and Roser Jorba Soler. Inspired by ‘Feminist Avant-Garde of the 1970: Works from the Verbund Collection’ (link below). http://thephotographersgallery.org.uk/feminist-avant-garde-of-the-1970s The two-minute piece aims to explore feminism through history, drawing comparisons to four acclaimed 20th century painters. Feminism is the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes, a movement inaugurated by females, thus giving themselves power. The piece consists of visual art in the form of video and contemporary dance that includes artwork by different painters alternately displayed as a backdrop for a silhouette of expressive human movement. Paintings: Edward Hopper (1944), Morning in a City. Edward Hopper (1952), Morning Sun. Frida Kahlo (1940), Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird. Gustave Klimt (1918), Lady with a Fan. Pablo Picasso (1907), Les Demoiselles.

ADEPT-GAZE PRESENTS Jake Pearce www.jakepearce3.wixsite.com/jakepearce Instagram @jakepearcephotography ABOUT US www.adept-gaze.com www.facebook.com/adeptgaze www.instagram.com/adeptgaze Adept-Gaze is a platform aiming to promote and share the work of young artists living in London. We do this through regular short videos starring the artists themselves. We want to include as diverse a group of artists as possible including painters, dancers, musicians, cinematographers, chefs, etc. They must be unique, go-getters, motivated individuals with drive and self-belief. We are beginning this venture because we felt compelled to start a community of talented young artists who are passionate about sharing their work, which we can help promoting it, and getting involved in future collaborations. As a student of Media & Communications and a soon to be graduate of Sonic Arts at Goldsmiths College, we are enthusiastic to take this opportunity to gain professional experience in business management and creative content development.
